ochre…) – A stop in the medieval village d’Oingt, before continuing the journey in the direction

“Annéciens and Annéciennes”. It is situated in the Départment of Haute Savoie in the south-

>         Day 4  -  Thursday 30 July 2015   -    Visit to Lyon
**Breakfast in the hotel**
09.00 hrs.  Depart for a guided visit to Lyon (Départment of Rhône)
Lyon  is called the cold one, but she is nothing but discreet ; people call her bourgeois, but she
also is the jokey one (which means that Lyon’s people have a sense of criticism and wit) along
with epicure (reference to the good food) ! Between the winding Saône and the powerful
Rhône Lyon cultivates the paradoxical taste. The capital of the Gauls has kept the spirit of  the
silk weavers ( being a labour of love for silk and exquisit material), stunning the pedestrians
with its luminous elegance, to lose them in its obscure passageways.
By bus visit to  <<Fourvière>>, its basilica, its gallo-roman theatre – <<Place Saint Jean>>
and the old Lyon – its streets and its stores – its rivers Rhône and Saône. Etc.>>
Continuation of the visit.    A reception with personages is intended (uniform requested).
Evening meal – exchange of presents.
>|         Day 5  -  Friday 31 July 2015 -   Visit to Vienne  -  Département Isère
**Breakfast in the hotel**
Departure by train to the town of Vienne   (Départment Isère)  <<Rome in Isère>>
Eclipsed by Lyon, crossed by the national route 7, the capital of the Allobroges (antique Gaulish
people) has been unjustly under estimated. A tour of the town centre will repair this false
impression : In a small area there are ancient remains closely situated to the medieval houses
and also to the Renaissance facades, facing the 19th century. Vienne possesses an
exceptional extraordinary  heritage of archaeology,  architecture and antique furniture,
demonstrated by 41 historic monuments, 4 municipal museums with their rich collections,
plus the biggest market in the region.
